BUILDING A MODEL RAILWAY – Short course in co-operation with Liphook U3A

SEPTEMBER 2010

To celebrate the 100 th Anniversary of the establishment of the first model railway club in Britain and probably in the world, Liphook University of the Third Age (U3A) in co-operation with Liphook & District Model Railway Club (L&DMRC) are arranging a course on Building a model railway as part of their new season starting in September 2010.

The course ran for 12- 2hour evening sessions. 11 students attended and was thoroughly enjoyed by those attending. One student subsequently joined the L&DMRC. Several others are known to have started layouts.

JANUARY 2012

We hope to re-run the course  starting in Late March 2012. Following some feed back the course may be held in the afternoon rather than the evening.

Anybody interested who is over 50 and is  eligible to join the U3A or is currently a member, will they please contact the course leader Tony Bettger.

tony@bettger.net  01428 741551.

The Liphook U3A does not subsidise the course, so the course fee has to cover room rental and the course notes printing cost. We need over ten attendees to cover all costs and to keep the course fee affordable.

See also www.liphooku3a.org.uk for details, or come along to the Liphook U3A Pop In at Liphook Millennium Hall  on Wednesday 22nd February 2012  between 14-00 and 16-30. We shall have a table , have a chat and if your interested sign up. Free home made refreshments!
